Fernando Dolbeth Assunção Joins ATIGS Organizing Committee as All Portuguese Speaking Countries Coordinator
Mr. Fernando Dolbeth Assunção is based in Lisbon and Luanda and holds dual citizenships of Portugal and Angola. He has a strong business development background and has spent his entire career in building insurance ventures across Africa and Europe, building an excellent network across the Sub-Saharan region. Having hold senior management positions with European and African insurance companies, Fernando has a strong background in finance industry. He previously served as Chief Executive Officer at GA Angola Seguros S.A. Mr. Assunção began his career in Portugal, in 1998 when he joined Combined Insurance Company of America. In 2006, he started his own insurance broker in Portugal and concentrated on the largest projects in Angola. In 2008, he was head-hunted by Mundial Seguros Angola, where he became Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer of MUNDIAL SEGUROS, which he developed into one of the largest insurers in Angola. He was the original founder of ASAN (ANGOLAN ASSOCIATION OF INSURERS), and Vice-president of the ASAN General Assembly. He serves as Director at GA Angola Seguros S.A. Mr. Assunção has a Bachelor’s Degree in Military Sciences and Aeronautic Engineering, and has successfully completed a number of high ranking international post-graduate MBA’s.
